The Story
One of the very few positive things that came out of the COVID-19 pandemic was the increase in participation of coarse fishing. Not only did it give beginners a sense of the great outdoors and benefits to their mental health, but it allowed anglers who had long put away their fishing tackle to try again.
Founder and Coach Dave Eastwood found himself in a difficult position working in the Travel Industry which had been decimated by the pandemic and needed an outlet through lock down for his own mental health.
During this time he began creating video footage for bait company Teddy Fisher to try to break away from the challenges of the lock down and to hopefully give other anglers tips on bait usage.
This then lead to the creation of popular fishing podcast "Two Pints of Maggots & A Packet of Hooks" where he talks to some of the biggest names in UK Coarse & Match Fishing.
Sharing hints and tips and the satisfaction gained by others increasing their catch rates, led to Dave becoming a qualified level 1 Angling Coach with the sports governing body - The Angling Trust.
Dave combines over a decade of training knowledge and delivery, with his angling experience. This enables anybody of all abilities, age, race or gender, a step up in their angling pursuits. Years of training delivery and watching people develop professionally are nothing compared to watching somebody grow and develop their angling skills!
Dave has delivered coaching and training in countries such as USA, Mexico, Spain, Greece, Bulgaria, Latvia and Egypt for and on behalf of brands such as BlackBerry, Vodafone, O2, Carphone Warehouse, Thomas Cook, Tui and a variety of airlines and leisure services in the UK and Europe. It is this depth of experience which makes East Midlands Angling Academy different from many other coaching companies and individuals.
